Health Science CNA (Pre-Nursing) Pathway
The Health Science CNA pathway at the Pike Career and STEM Center gives students a strong introduction to the healthcare field and what it means to work directly with patients. This program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to deliver basic patient care in long-term care facilities while preparing them for future careers in nursing and healthcare. Students gain hands-on experience both in the classroom lab and in real clinical settings.
Students follow the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) CNA curriculum and are prepared to take the state certification exam. The program includes extensive real-world training, including 75 hours of clinical rotations in a long-term care facility, where students work with real residents under professional supervision. This experience builds confidence, compassion, and practical caregiving skills.
The Health Science CNA pathway offers valuable credentials and college credit opportunities, including:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification

- CNA Prep – 5 College Credits
