Animal Agriscience Pathway
The Animal Agriscience pathway at the Pike Career and STEM Center is designed for students who have a passion for agriculture and animal science. Students begin with foundational coursework in animal care, biology, and agriculture, then progress into advanced topics such as veterinary science, animal nutrition, and livestock management. Our program blends classroom instruction with hands-on learning experiences, including lab activities, real-world projects, and field trips, preparing students for both college and career success in animal-related fields.
Students in Animal Agriscience have opportunities to earn industry-recognized and college credentials, including Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) certification and Ivy Tech dual credit. They can also participate in state and national FFA Career Development Events, building leadership, teamwork, and professional skills while competing at a high level.
Graduates of this pathway are well prepared for careers and continued education in veterinary science, animal care and training, agriculture, livestock production, zoo and wildlife management, and related fields. The Animal Agriscience program offers students a strong foundation, real-world experience, and a pathway to meaningful, in-demand careers.
